New Year, New Opportunities…

There’s an extraordinary significance when a year ends and a new one begins. It’s the end of an experience, a time of reflection and the promising start of something new.

At CAREERXCHANGE® we like to look back, not only at our successes and lessons-learned, but also at the direct impacts we’ve made on all those we’ve come across. Every year, we try our very best to make a difference in people’s lives – be it in the service we provide our candidates and clients or in the work we do with the wonderful charitable and non-profit organizations we partner with.

This past year was filled with challenges for us all, but it also gave us moments of incredible kindness and joy. That’s why we believe that any contribution to a worthy cause is that small sliver of light that shines brightest in the darkness.

In 2017, we were fortunate enough, along with our incredibly generous clients and extended CXC® family, to be able to provide our continued support to Our Pride Academy, a school for special needs children and young adults that gives its students opportunities to grow and develop essential academic and daily living skills that empower them to live independent and fulfilling lives.

When Hurricane María became the tenth-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record and devastated the island of Puerto Rico, we set up a GoFundMe page and our management matched every single cent. We were able to make that donation to Unidos Por Puerto Rico, an organization dedicated to providing assistance to individuals and small businesses devastated by Hurricanes Irma and María accelerating their recovery by supporting needs for shelter, food and health resources.

Our final contribution during the 2017 holiday season was particularly touching. We partnered up with CBS4’s Adopt a Family Initiative to provide a family in need with some much-needed comfort during the holidays. We were lucky enough to speak with the Basden family whose incredible positivity in the face of adversity was a seismic dose of inspiration for our team. CXC® contributed gift certificates for the whole family to enjoy and we received the gift of the photo below.

All in all, one lesson is clear: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” — Mahatma Gandhi

Here’s to another remarkable year…
